Apollow under the tree.

Good news, my artistic mojo is slowly returning. I've been working on this on and off for the past week or so. Trying all sorts of new things to make the process more manageable.

This is based off an old artwork from many years ago. It's a special piece to me, and I've revisited it several times since then. Here's the original.

Somehow, this artwork has become about my memory of when I drew the original and what my life was like at the time. Like a game of telephone, the memory degrades and changes over time. Now that I've completed a new version of this artwork, the original hardly looks the way I remember. Was it always so cold and hazy? The composition feels so unfamiliar now too.

What if I had never seen the original artwork again? How would I have remembered it differently? The details are fuzzy, but it's more about the impression it left on me. The fine details may be forgotten, but I remember how it made me feel.

Hopefully I can keep the ball rolling with making new artworks. I really enjoyed working on this especially after such a long period of inactivity.
